Body Talk -19th February

Slightly different slant to the show this evening. John Thorogood joined me, talking about his experiences on the receiving end of various different therapies.

John has always been very active , playing many different sports when younger, including football. The tough regime that he followed put his body under a lot of stress, resulting in back and knee problems as he got older. These conditions prompted him to turn to alternative therapies for help. John approached it with the attitude of helping himself rather than letting others do the work for him. Initially he consulted a physio which, although it helped, he found himself having to keep going back to correct the problem, and he knew that there must be a better way of maintaining his own health.

This is when he discovered yoga. John has been practising for about five years now, and has made considerable changes in not only the condition of his back and knee, but also an overall increase in body health and fitness. Yoga has taught him how to correct various different body imbalances over the years and continues to help him maintain a much more comforfortable level of fitness.

John has also experienced reflexology which he found extremely useful as a diagnostic tool. He has also experienced hypnotherapy, which he describes as an efficient way of working through emotional and psychological difficulties. He has also experienced past life regression, which he found both fascinating and educational. This is something that he would definately recommend, if only out of curiosity.

If you would like to try any of these therapies  or to find out more contact me at Phoenix98fm.
