Body Talk - 24th June

My favourite subject of Yoga was the topic for discussion this evening. Sharon Cogdale was my guest. Sharon came on to the show about a year ago, when she had just started her yoga teacher training course. She has come on in leaps and bounds since then.

Sharon has found the course gruelling but very worthwhile. It covers all aspects of anatomy and physiology, diet and nutrition, philosophy, breathing and meditation, as well as physical exercise. She has just come to the end of the second year.

One year left to go, and she has now started teaching two classes. They are both beginners classes and she has been very successful with both of them.

We discussed different ways of relieving stress through working with the breath, and using visualisation techniques. Sharon knows that these techniques work as she's found herself in stressful situations from time to time, as we all do, and has found her yoga invaluable.

Yoga is a fantastic way of getting to know your body and getting it to work for you instead of against you. There are so many different types of yoga available now it can be a little confusing which class to choose. if you are in any doubt, check with the teacher.
