Mozart to Enigma

Monday Classics 26th January 2009

Had a great chat with Michael Frith, the organist and pianist and
Visiting Lecturer of Music at Middlesex Univeristy, about the forthcoming
concert at All Saints Church, Doddinghurst on Sunday 1st February at 7pm.

Michael explained how the two Mozart Piano Concertos will be performed by
Mine Dogantan (Piano solo) and himself using the organ to replicate the whole
orchestral part - all fascinating stuff.

He also told of us the plans for 3 more concerts in the next season, and
we discussed the merits of using top notch electric pianos.

As I mentioned, the website address is:
www.concerts-at-all-saints.co.uk

Go take a look!

And here were your Monday Classics

Return to Innocence - Enigma
(featuring aboriginal Tawainese chant) - forgot to tell you that

Allegretto Grazioso from The Downland Suite - John Ireland

Allegro Assai (Piano Concerto no 19 in F) - Mozart

Song of the Plains - Adiemus

The 7.30 Wind Down
An Ending from Ascent - Tyler Rix

The Film Classic
Theme from 'Ladies and Lavender' - Nigel Hess

Hoppipolla - Jonathan Ansell

The hour flew by, and Jules was in the hot seat. Until next week,
take care, keep listening to Phoenix 98FM - I know you will!

ED and the Phoenix Monday Classics

PS BIG Thank you to Bill and Hannah too for helping out tonight. Cheers to 'Drive' Bryan for rescuing one of my CDs.
