What Lost Hour.....Stolen Moment.....Time....What's That?

Sunday 29th March 2009

I would start by saying ........the clocks went forward.....but....haven't I said that somewhere before......(Last Year).....so to avoid Ground Hog day and all that entails....The day started badly. I'd lost an hour. The punch in that can of lager I'd had at the Phoenix birthday party the night before had clearly knocked me for six..........I woke at 6.15 in a cold sweat and a panic.......but made it to the studio for 6.40.......to be faced with the detritus of another world of the party for the second Phoenix Birthday which had taken place Saturday night. Avoiding the stray sausage rolls and half empty wine bottles.....I got the news together....the Ryman league suffered a little....but I started more or less on time! Oh with....Jon Allen - In Your Light

The rest of the playlist looked like this

Of course I did mention the possibility of influencing the music choice at 7.30 am by texting or e-mailing soul or rock to 89892 or radio@phoenixfm.com

Today in  1981 saw the inaugural London Marathon proving an instant success. More than 20,000 people applied to run: 7,747 were accepted and 6,255 crossed the finish line on Constitution Hill as cheering crowds lined the route. Now at capacity, a total of 46,500 were accepted from a record 80,500 applicants, with 32,563 finishing on the day. Since this time the event has continued to grow in size, stature and popularity with a capacity 46,500 accepted entrants each year. In all, a total of 711,260 have completed the race since its inception with 34,497 runners crossing the line in 2008.

See you next Sunday

Cheers

James
