Emily Robins on Phoenix FM

It was great to welcome Emily Robins (and her Mum, Helen) from Shenfield
into the Phoenix Studios tonight.

Emily is a busy young musician, she loves her singing, and this led her
to a position in the finals of Brentwood's Got Talent.

For the 7.30 Wind Down, Emily sang live on air with her interpretation
of the famous song 'Panis Angelicus' by Cesar Franck. A great moment, too.

We also chatted about her role in the chorus of 'Joseph and the amazing technicolour
dreamcoat' in London, how she got into music, and we talked about how it's often
taking part in or seeing a concert that gives that real buzz to young musicians,
who then know that they want to pursue a career in music.

This led us on to the Phoenix FM Young Classical Musician of the Year Competition -
if you are 11 - 18, live and/or go to school in the Brentwood/Billericay area, if you
love music, play a classical instrument or sing in a classical style, then you are
eligible to enter. See the homepage of www.phoenixfm.com for more details, follow
the link - online registration from May 1st.

The Phoenix FM Events Guide is growing again: Emily and I gave you details of classical
