A Croatian politician has been swept to power after promising voters he would rip them off at every opportunity.

Well, at least he’s honest… kind of.  He’ll rip you off as much as any other politician but at least he admits it.

Josko Risa was voted in as mayor in Prolozac…

…If you live in a town that sounds like an antidepressant no wonder you don’t mind being ripped off.

He got a landslide victory using the slogan: “All for me - nothing for you.”

That’s what the Three Musketeers changed their slogan to before they parted ways.

Locals who backed Risa said they would be happy to have him as mayor, despite his bizarre campaign pledge.  Ivan Vjisnic said: “We know what we’re letting ourselves in for.”

I suppose it’s like eating Mexican food.  You know you’re going to pay for it the next day but as you’re suffering you think, “Well, I brought this on myself.”

Normal politicians are like bad shrimp.  You didn’t expect to suffer such a pain in the... well, you get the point.

*CAUTION*  some strong language

‘Night At The Museum 2’ (PG)
(Starring: Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Steve Coogan)
“NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN” is the further adventures of down-and-out dreamer Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), who continues to encounter living and breathing museum exhibits. With Amy (“ENCHANTED”) Adams and Owen (“MARLEY & ME”) Wilson. Sequel to “A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM” (2006).
‘Awaydays’ (18)
(Starring: Stephen Graham, Nicky Bell, Liam Boyle, Oliver Lee, Lee Battle)
Film tells the story of Carty (Nicky Bell), an awkward middle-class teenager growing up on the industrial wasteland of the Wirral, who plays down his solid upbringing and intelligence to join ruling gang The Pack, a savage group who live for the beer and beatings of Saturday afternoons. Chief among the group’s attractions of the group for Carty is the charismatic Elvis (Liam Boyle, a standout), a budding New Romantic increasingly alienated by the routine of The Pack, and looking to broaden his social (and sexual) horizons, toying with his hold over Carty in the process.
‘Tormeneted’ (15)
(Starring:  Alex Pettyfer, Georgia King, Sophie Wu, April Pearson, Geoff Bell)
Alex (“STORMBREAKER”) Pettyfer toplines the British horror film “TORMENTED”. In the school-set, teen scare pic, a bullied boy comes back from the dead to take revenge on the students who wronged him. The film is directed by first-time helmer Jon Wright from a screenplay by Stephen Prentice.
‘Everlasting’ (15)
(Starring: Maria Heiskanen, Mikael Persbrandt, Jesper Christensen, Emil Jensen, Ghita Norby)
Maria (Maria Heiskanen) is swept away by the loutish rake Sigfrid (Mikael Persbrandt), and marries him at a young age. Sigfrid can’t keep a job, but possesses a unique gift for stumbling home roaring drunk at the worst possible moment. Eventually, his rage and frustration manifest themselves on the domestic front. Confronted with a bleak future, Maria strikes up a friendship with Mr. Petersson (Jesper Christensen), the proprietor of the local photography shop. She begins taking her own photographs. For her, it’s a near magical window to a world she knows little about, and a welcome respite from her tumultuous home life. Her new pastime poses troubling questions for her, though: is the satisfaction she gets from it worth her marriage, one of the few constants in her life? Nominated for the 2008 Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
