Body Talk 6th October 2009

This week on Body Talk we took a look at the topical news issues that were around this week.

These included;
The Food Standards Agency reporting that 65% of chicken on sale in the UK has a food bug present in it that causes 55,000 people to fall ill every year.
A new report that claimed a woman's education influences how long she, and her partner, would live.
A Mediterranean-style diet could help to fight depression.
The discovery of gene, NRG1, that acts as a 'protector' against certain types of cancer.
And the fact that obesity is costing the NHS millions of pounds every year.

Tune in on the 13th October to hear Jules Bottazzi on Body Talk when the guest will be Alex Edghill who is Clinical Nurse Manager and specialist breast care nurse at Spire Hartswood Hospital. October is Breast Care Awareness Month and Alex will explain how she and her team support women with breast cancer. In particular, she will focus on her work to ensure patients and their families are well informed about their diagnosis, treatment and future prognosis. She will be joined by Lauren Dixon, one of Spire Hartswood’s youngest breast cancer patients, who has generously agreed to share her story.

That's Body Talk at 7pm Tuesday only on Phoenix 98 FM in association with Spire Hartswood Hospital.
