Drive 7th - 11th

Lots of great stuff on Drive the week before last - spoke to the one and only Jimmy White who was opening the new Burger King at Basildon - really chatty, nice guy, he told me about his time in the jungle and his hopes for his snooker career in the future - as he told us he's too talented never to win a World Championship (he mischievously said) and so he's looking to get back in top 32. The amount of people wanting to get their photo taken with him shows how he recahed the final of I'm a Celeb.

Also spoke to young man Ryan Lambert of Kazen Kai karate club in Hutton who's won gold recently at the Belgium Open Karate Competition and has now been capped for England - he's basically the best in the country for his age - fantastic ability and he's going on hopefully to World Championship success next year. Had some messages of support for the club as well who obviously do a fantastic job as we also spoke to Simon Kidd from the club who teach youngsters from all over the area. For more information on joining them go to their website www.kazenkai.com

Also spoke to David Miles from the Brentwood federation of small businesses about the work they do and how things have been this year - there really is a lot of advantage to joining as you don't pay fees if you're a small business with them for many things like legal advice if you belong to them - for more info go to www.fsb.org.uk/essex

Spoke to Simon Fielding and the cast of the Basildon panto Jack and the Beanstalk as well - Simon's directing it as well and obviously loves it - and like the Brentwood theatre, it's also having its best ever year for the Christmas production - to book go to www2.basildon.gov.uk/towngate

And we wrapped off the week with a couple of X factor exclusives - speaking to Brentwood's X Factor chef Liz Comben who went into the house the contstants were all living in to cook for them to promote healthy eating - she said they were all fabulous and got stuck in to cooking - even though you could feel the slightly tense atmosphere in the house! I bet. Anyway we know now who won. I won't spoil it if you've recorded it. Suffice to say, we also spoke to Stacey Solomon's music teacher at Havering College who told us what a telant Stacey was, and how it was good we had all seen how powerful her voice really was. He didn't think she'd be going back though! I think he's right.
