Eat my Lunch Monday 22nd – Friday 26th March 2010

What a week!

I am really getting into the swing of Eat my Lunch. I am setting out plans for my format and trying to stop myself from rambling for too long. When I natter I often think of the audience as the long-suffering friend who I am telling all my thoughts too! Often after the show I realise that I have probably just broadcast to anything up to 160 thousand people, who now all feel they are my close friends too (or not!).

So what happened this week….

David Yetton

I must say that I thought the adaptation was amazing, it was a terrific show. I have never seen the film version although I knew a lot of the songs. The performances by Daryl Kane as Tevye and Lynette Sullivan as Golde were impressive. I know that Daryl received a massive round of applause not only from the audience but from the other members of the cast.

The supporting cast were equally as good with Kevin Abrey’s Motel a funny, charming and sweet character. I could have run up to the stage myself to marry him!

from the Chelmsford Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society came in to talk about the up and coming production of the Fiddler on the Roof. I was lucky enough to go along to see the production on Friday 26th February.

The mystery surrounding the Scotsman (who has phoned into my show twice in the last two weeks) deepens.

Jock called in shortly after Valentines Day to chat to me about love and life. He then called again a week later for more of the same. He always calls me "hen", which I gather is term like "sweetheart".

Jock has since sent a picture - please see above. As you would expect this Scotsman is wearing a kilt! Handsome devil that he is.

Will Jock call again? Maybe or maybe.. he bloody well better!

John Brandler

from the Brandler Galleries came in to talk all things art and then we got caught up in conversations about everything but art. John is a very interesting and entertaining man and I look forward to his return in March for more of the same.

At Brandler Galleries they specialises in three fields of art:

  • Modern British
  • Illustrations for Children's Publications
  • English Old Masters

John Brandler
First, meet the man behind the name - John Brandler. John is the owner, founder and leading force behind this small, friendly business. He comes from a dealing background - his grandfather was an auctioneer. So it was no surprise that he started dealing in antique furniture whilst he was still at school.

Later, he purchased his first Carel Weight painting at a house sale. It was through Carel that he met other Royal Academicians, fell in love with the art world and has dealt in art ever since. Whilst in the early days he dealt from the back of a van, he has owned the Gallery for the last 24 years.
