Mahavira - 11th April 2010

What an amazing weekend! I felt like I had my cake & ate it. I had the pleasure with rocking with friends in London on Friday night & Saturday then on Saturday night joined Michelle Ward & her band, Dee Hunter & other members of the Phoenix FM crew at the Brentwood Theatre which was a lovely, successful evening for us. Then the weather as well! Glorious sunshine & it was great when out & about to see the smiles on peoples faces & the spring in their step!

Actually the nice weather reminded me of the day about three weeks ago when I interviewed Jay Matharu, the wonderful guitarist from the north London band, Mahavira. It was a lovely day by the canal in Camden & I played the results of that interview tonight. They're continuing their Half Light tour on Thurs the 15th April over at the Walkabout in Reading.

Also on Thursday the 15th, but in London is another showcase for Russell Joslin's Jet Black & White album. It'll be at the 12 Bar club on Denmark St in central London. He'll be playing songs from the album & he'll be joined by other acts on the night- Jack Cheshire, Grace Banks & Frank Doody.
