Body Talk - 1st June2010

Increase your vitality by wearing clothes that make you feel good. Don't leave your best clothes hidden in the wardrobe waiting for a special occasion, put them on and se how good it makes you feel. Take time to de-stress by going for a walk or swimming or get out into the garden. Most importantly, eat well.

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day, and people who eat breakfast are apparently slimmer than those who don't. It does depend on what you have for breakfast though. A chocolate croissant might seem healthy, but it is packed with fat and sugar, and won't give you sustained energy. You'll be craving more food mid-morning.

Toast and marmalade might seem more healthy but again lots of fat and sugar. Use wholemeal bread and a small amount of marmalade for more beneficial nutrients.

Porridge is great. Lots of fibre to help reduce cholesterol and regulate blood sugar. Give you energy for several hours. Some of the crunchy oat cereals look good but but they can have loads of fat and sugar, look on the packet for sugar and fat content. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon is good. Lots of nutrients in both, and they give you energy. Avoid the traditional English breakfast or bacon sarnies. Loaded full of calories and high in fat.

Get your day off to a good start with healthy breakfast.
