21st - 25th June - Warm up to Glastonbury! (sorry its late :-) )

This week the emergency budget was announced, it was Piers 30th Birthday and he payed an hour of tracks that he has bought over the last 30 years of his life, from Kylie Minogue’s Locomotion to the The National there was a real mix including the ever so topical 3 lions on the shirt! In local news a Couple's pork pie cake made wedding day an upper crust affair. Not forgetting that it is Glasto this week, I gave you a warm up to Fridays festivities at the biggest outdoor party in the country!

Tuesday I was joined in the studio by Anne Brown from the Helen Rollanson Heal Cancer Charity. on Saturday there will be a vintage fair at Cressing Temple Barns with activities ranging from Dancing through to Antique valuations.

Mid week Movies

Sex and the City holds the top spot for a third week running
Letters to Juliet enters this week in 2nd, a shakespeare inspired love story, as sophie takes on a journey of the heart
Street Dance 3D has been pushed into number 3 but still doing well after 4 weeks in the charts
Prince of Persia is nudged in to 4th Position
Broklyns Finest is a new entry - The story revolves around three New York police officers over one week. Eddie is a patrolman played by Richard Gere who only has 7 days left before he can pull the pin and retire. Eddie has seen it all, and he has become so disenchanted with life that he must find some reason each day not to blow his own brains out. Undercover cop Tango played by Don Cheadle has been on the streets too long, causing him to protect Caz (Wesley Snipes) the drug kingpin target he is out to catch. Sal (Ethan Hawke) is a narcotics cop who is under tremendous pressure to provide a healthy home for his pregnant wife and two children. This stress from home and the temptation of all that drug money at his job is causing him to jump back and forth from being a good cop to a bad cop. In the end, all three police officers will eventually come together.
Death at a Funeral - Based on an English family going through a traumatic time this farcical comedy drops from 4th after 2 weeks
Tooth Fairy falls one position
After 5 weeks in the charts Robin Hood is still hanging in there
She's Out of My League was a low entry and after 2 weeks at the box office isn't making much of an impact
Adventure Chick flick 4,3,2,1 is struggling at the bottom of the charts

Thursday 24th June

GUEST: Ed Bowsher - Lovemoney.com

This Morning Ed and I discussed the Budget and how it will affect out general living.

The January Sales are probably going to be record breaking as VAT increases to 20% on the 4th January 2011 - however essentials including food and children’s clothing wont be affected
Income Tax 2011 - 2012 allowance will increase by £1000 so those people on a low income will gain an extra £200
The rules for Disability allowance will be changing in 3 years time as there will be medical tests to determine what benefits you receive.
Age of retirement up to 66 and State Pensions will be rising in April 2011
Corporation Tax - big reductions for small Business' - now is the time to start up as you can reap the benefits of a downturn and ride the success when the economy is on an up turn
National insurance - There will be now increase for Employers contributions to National Insurance which is thought to help reduce unemployment and encourage companies to take on more staff.
Child Benefits - An increase of £150 as of April 2011 but there has been movement in the thresholds that will affect households with a joint income of over £40K
