Simon Cowell banns songs on X-factor

Simon Cowell has reportedly banned a list of songs from being sung on the X-factor, this year. Some of these songs are Sex on Fire’ by Kings of Leon and ‘I'm Yours’ by Jason Mraz.

The reason they have been banned is because Simon Cowell fears that viewers will be bored by hearing the same tracks over and over – and also he is irritated that some of his favourite music gets murdered in the auditions.

The songs are not the only thing that has been changed, The show has undergone a makeover- as sob stories are out and dance lessons are encouraged.

Cowell hopes to find a star whose success will be as long-lasting as that of previous contestants Alexandra Burke, JLS, Leona Lewis and Diana Vickers.

The News of the World reports that Cowell has told a source: "This is about people's real honesty and personality. It's about them and their stage presence."

The show will be back to ITV1 on 21 August and be presented by Dermot O'Leary.

Konnie Huq will also takes over from Holly Willoughby presenting ITV2's ‘The Xtra Factor’.

Ian Wright leaves ‘live on studio 5’

According to the Daily Star, TV presenter Ian Wright reportedly stormed out of his TV show 'Live From Studio Five', on Thursday night, after being told his contract wouldn't be renewed.

The show aired without the former Arsenal striker, who allegedly disapproved of planned changes to the programme's format.

Other reports suggest that the star got into a row with show bosses after he refused to promote Five's talent show 'Don't Stop Believing'.
Wright's co-presenters Kate Walsh and Jayne Middlemiss will reportedly keep working for 'Live From Studio Five' in the future.
Whilst the programme currently airs between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, it is set to be cut down by half an hour, so it doesn't clash with BBC1's 'The One Show'.

A source told The Daily Star: “The show is being downsized and works better with two hosts. “Ian wasn’t comfortable with that and the producers decided it was best for everyone not to have him on the show any longer.”

The news follows reports, that earlier this year former co-host Melinda Messenger quit over disagreements with Ian Wright. However Ian claims that he quit his role on 'Live From Studio Five'.He has said: "It's just been arguments for the last couple of weeks, and I said to the people up there 'I'm not feeling good about the future'."We came to the decision yesterday that it's not going to go any further. Instead of renewing I just said 'well let's just leave it'."
