25 years Back to the Future

Sunday 3rd October

Sophie Ellis Bexter opened the show with her new song, and we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Back to Future, with a full play of the title sequence and 'Back in Time' from Huey Lewis and the News.

Top tips this morning included the benefits of drinking pomegranate juice, and believe me, there are many. It can even help you shift your middle aged spread (not that you have any).

Susan Boyle and George Michael were in the news this morning, and so was Cheryl Cole, wiping a tear away on the front pages. We also chatted about getting too much sleep (I wish), but the scientists are now saying that those who get between 5 - 6 hours slumber are likely to outlive others.

The Ryder cup was delayed by too much rain in Wales, and we were warned to expect not the best weather here.

From 8 O'clock we Kept The Faith, hearing from singing sensation Isabel Suckling, aged 12, who is tipped to be the next classical star, following in the footsteps of Charlotte Church; she is the youngest ever signing to Decca Records, the biggest classical label in the world.

In the International Religious News we heard about Christians arrested, a Texax decree, Not-Ashamed Day and the Benedict bounce. And this week's worship track was 'For this I have Jesus', by Graham Kendrick.

Album of the Week today was 'Hands All Over' by Maroon 5, and we heard 3 unmistakably 'Maroon 5' tracks from it.

The all-new Breakfast Text Request Hour got underway at 9am, first texter of the day was Alison from Hutton. Alan came in a close second for the 2nd tune of the hour, which was Gladys Knight and the Pips. We also played a tune for the two newest arrivals at Colchester Zoo!

Robbie Williams and Andrew Babicz helped the final 10 mins of Breakfast slip towards the top of the hour,

See you on 10.10.10!

Ed
