The amount of time I spend rambling (talking not walking) is incredible. I start off on a subject on air and before I realise it a few minutes have gone by and I am talking about something else. I seem to skip from one subject to another. Facial hair, overweight, Brazilians, love life and that’s just my profile on
My Question of the Day was Tuition Fees and joining me in the studio to discuss this and other education related issues was my old school teacher John Westwood – Mayfield High Schools longest serving teacher! John knows his stuff and the discussion went on for over an hour. You can hear the full interview here…
Katie came in to let everyone know there is now a Coffee Shop Stop at Brentwood Library, so it’s a fab place to sit down, read and get a great cup of coffee, tea and a cake.
Mark came in to talk about up and coming events at the Brentwood Theatre. During our chat Alan Johnson (Saturday Mornings 10am – 12pm) came in with hilarious consequences.
The amount of people who answer the Question of the Day is growing. People spend time putting their thoughts on a variety of issues, from Tuition Fees to Alternative Uses for Pipe cleaners! Get involved, join my Facebook Page, please... be my friend!
I have to say that one of the funniest things that I look forward to at the start of my show is the handover between Emma Sweeney (7am – 11am Breakfast Show). She is a minx and this week she called me a moron. I have to agree she is normally correct with her comments. I love it when Emma corpses on air, which she does when the conversation goes a little bit, close to the mark. Listen to the amount of times you hear Emma say “oh dear” during the handover. My fav remark of Emma’s “ooh that doesn’t sound very hygienic”. Brilliant.
The Phoenix FM “a list” is put together by Management and other presenter recommendations. I am delighted that my recommendation (stolen from Bryan Powis) is Mark Ronson and The Business Intl featuring Boy George “Somebody to Love me” it’s out on the 29th November. It’s a cracking tune and I have been busy singing it all day.
They had a sale 2 for the price of one on boxes of Matchmakers. I did bring the boxes into the studio but sadly had eaten all the Matchmatchers :( still; I left the boxes in the Phoenix FM kitchen so people would blame others for being really greedy.
Have to say a big thank you to my regular listeners who keep me sane during my show, or try to. If you haven’t discovered the joys of chatting live on air then pop into the chat room at Phoenix. You can ask for requests as long as it’s that new single by Mark Ronson. WANT TO BE PART OF THE SHOW
Then contact and come and join me for a nice sarnie, a cup of tea and a natter live on air.
