Chuckle along your Saturday.....

Hello Folks, been another slow week at the sharp end of 2011. We heard sillyness in local news around cutbacks and the possible lose or vital fire engine from Brentwood firestation; this is due to the cuts. We also heard about a petition to restore a bus route to Queen Hospital by local people. ' Music wise, We had two songs from The White Lies on my "Twofers"- 'Death & To Lose my life', as we eagerly await the exciting launch of theire second Album 'Ritual'. Which is released Monday 17th and will see the guys play a big record shop to delight fans....HMV london. Comedy Pick……for this weeks show: Jerry Sadowitz, at the Leicester Square Theatre, on 20th – 22th January 2011. Jerry is the brilliantly foul-mouthed comic whose act would even make Denis Leary blush. And he doesn’t get anywhere near enough credit for his top-notch magic either — he’s like a Satan-ised version of Paul Daniels, with jokes. Paul Merton and Josie Lawrence, at the Comedy Store, on the 23th January 2011. TV’s Paul Merton will be joining Josie Lawrence at the Comedy Store Players for a night of comedy improvisation. Other comedians on the bill include Neil Mullarkey, Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch and Philim McDermott Locally, - Monday 24 January 2011, 8.00pm - Guffaw Comedy Club @ the Brentwood Threatre - Monday Comedy Night With Mike Gunn, Jeff Innocent - and JOHN McVICAR! An amazing night of comedy - with reformed 60's armed robber John McVicar; this you haver to see. My Live music pick for this week, was… Mon 17 Jan. White Lies - HMV Oxford Circus. The hugely successful West London trio, White Lies, celebrate the release of their highly anticipated new album, ‘Ritual’ with a free show and signing session. The band Harry McVeigh (lead vocals, guitar), Charles Cave (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums). ‘Ritual’ will be White Lies second album to date and follows their debut album, ‘To Lose My Life’, which when released in 2009 debuted at number one in the official UK album charts. ‘Ritual’, has been produced by Alan Moulder, and features new single, ‘Bigger Than Us’. Fri 21st Jan. Manic Street Preachers - Brixton Academy. The Manic Street Preachers last LP was the cheerily titled “Journal for Plague Lovers”, but now they’re returning to their rock roots with a brand new effort called “Postcards From A Young Man”. You can hear them perform it when they play the O2 Academy Brixton in January Sat 22nd Jan. Manic Street Preachers - Brixton Academy.
