Evening Echo, By Emma Palmer

PATRIOTIC residents are planning a right royal knees-up to mark Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton.  Residents of Norsey View Drive, Billericay, are teaming up to organise a huge street party to celebrate the royal wedding on Friday, April 29.  Neighbours will be marking the event by holding an outdoor celebration, complete with fancy dress, a tea party, dancing and a children’s entertainer on the special bank holiday .  South Basildon and East Thurrock MP Stephen Metcalfe has been working to bring about a change to make holding street parties easier ahead of April’s royal wedding.  He petitioned Prime Minister David Cameron, asking him to get councils to cut red tape when it comes to road closures for street celebrations.
